Starr Designs
Posted by Joe on April 17, 2015 at 5:21 pmi wonder! Does anyone know what happened to Starr Designs? He was Marathon’s painter years ago and IMHO one of, if not the best coach painter, ever.

I couldn’t agree more Grizz. All his work was unique and you could always spot it going down the road. Hasn’t been replicated since.

My 97 Marathon H was “painted” by Starr……….
I’m amazed at the beauty retention and almost total lack of aging after 18? years……..!!!
I’m peacock proud wherever we go…………..never posed for pix so much—–even in my ‘music’? days!!
What a talented man (and crew……….)

I talked to John Starr awhile ago , I was trying to get the paint codes for my coach, unfortunately he was unable to find them. He is now painting airplanes.

Has anyone had their airplane painted to match their coach? Or vice versa?
Back in my airplane days (30 years ago) Imron was the top paint for aircraft. Is that still the case? I presume painting technology has changed.

One thing I always here from people is how nice the paint is on my coach, then they ask if it is original, which it is and they are very impressed. I thought I read somewhere he used a double clear coat process on it…anyways, paint still looks amazing 14 years on and the design is cool as well…
