Those have been an issue and Prevost has a drop in replacement. The wiring has a small modification and I believe you will have to calibrate it but the instructions are excellent and it is not a difficult fix. You are not going to be able to set the odometer to the current reading so you just have to make a note of it with the coach records.

Don, I had a similar problem on my 92 Beaver conversion. I pulled the left front wheel and brake drum and located the sensor. Ohm’ed it out and found it open.

Ordered new one from Prevost and installed it, correcting the problem completely. $790 It came in a Meritor package, PN#

I just ordered one of these from Prevost this past week to fit on my 1990/1991 Country Coach. They had to get it out of Quebec as it was the only place they had inventory. Richard Moore, the salesman out of Prevost Nashville said that there were only 2 in stock in all of Prevost inventory. I bought 1. It cost $75.15 plus $5.26 shipping. He said they is no indication there plan to restock the item.

Other than Ebay, I am not sure where I will get one next time.

I have disc brakes on the steer axle. I’ve been thru the brakes and don’t recall seeing anything like that? No ABS either. But thanks!

I’m gonna look for a bad connection at the speed sensor on the Allison B500 or bad connection in the dash, but Jon is probably right that the speedo needs to be replaced.

Had that problem, checked everything I could find and finally pulled the speedo, took it to a VDO repair shop here in Michigan and ended up buying a new one set to my actual mileage for somewhere around $200.
