Speed sensor help
Last April I had a small problem that threw off a 22 14 trans error code. She has run flawlessly since then. My coach is at Prevost for service and my intention is to replace the speed sensor as long as its there. They tell me there are 3 different sensors. Turbine, input and output. Has anyone replaced the trans speed sensor and if so which one. If you have part number that would be really helpful.

Rick, I have about zero experience with Allision’s. I do have the diagonstic softwaere and trouble shooting manuals. I look in the manuals and cound not find reference to code 2214. One of the speed senors you mentioned has a trouble code of P0715. The diagonstic code should be specific to the sensor or circuit that is failing. I’m either looking at the wrong manual or that is not the correct code.

The speed sensor is on the rear of the bell housing. I think you’re doing the right thing having it replaced, just ask Granvil about his nightmare. Code 22 14 is engine speed sensor, 22 15 is turbine speed sensor and 22 16 is output speed sensor.
