Source for Tivoli Lights?
About half of the Tivoli’s in my 1997 Liberty are out. For some strange reason, the ones around the windows seem to be OK, it’s just the ones in the house, especially around the baseboards, that barely work.
I’d love to replace them with LED’s, but can’t decide which ones might look good. A lot of LED rope lights are way too bright, to numerous on the string, and have much larger form factors. Fortunately, however, there are now so-called “warm white” ones, so there may be some hope.
The factory lights, incandescent, are of unknown origin. They use so much current that I’m really motivated to switch them to LED rather than bother with trying to locate original replacements. In fact, the Tivoli master power relay recently failed, and even though it’s a basic part, it’s woefully difficult to replace given it’s location in the electrical bay. I figure that it’s a two hour project at best. In any event, it seems rediculous that a 200 amp relay shold be necessary for Tivoli’s!
Does anybody know what are used in newer coaches, and, perhaps where they can be purchased?

Tivoli lights and in fact all non LED coach lights draw a lot of power. It is nice having them all lit up, but I have to be aware of whatever else I have going on because at my inverter charge current settings I am actually drawing down the batteries.
But to answer your question, Fred, you might have to get the information or the replacements from Liberty. As tempting as it would be to go to LED lighting in the tivoli lights it likely needs to be an all or nothing deal because the light colors would be different with an LED. I suspect the tivoli lights are chosen to give off a “warm” light rather than the blue / white light of the typical LED.

I had the same problem and I replaced all of mine with LEDs I got off of Ebay. If you get Warm White with no more than 300 LEDs per 5 meters (over 15 feet) they should work fine. You can get then also with a dimmer switch with 3 setting also. I got mine for around $10 for 5 miters with free shipping, they came from China within 2 weeks. Check out ebay. I pulled all the lights under the cabinets along the floor and installed the LEDs the hardest part was removing the old lights. Get the one that are waterproof because they have a plastic coat over the LEDs and you are less likey to break the small LEDs installing them. They have a 3M adhesive strip on the back for attaching them to whatever you want, no staples which made the old ones hard to remove.

the replacement of the tivoli lights on our bus is on the list. I’d be interested in seeing what an LED switchover looks like versus the old. I’m really interested in keeping the low warm lighting like the original. Anything kicking out more lumens than the original mood lighting will ruin it.

I also need to replace the ones around the Windows. Half of mine are out..

I replaced all mine with LED rope lights from Vista Manufacturing(original OEM supplier to Marathon) provided lengths per window stile lights and all accent lights.

Dorel, how long ago was this? I’ve tried to contact them three different times. Each time their response was sorry, we will not sell to the end user, we only sell wholesale. So I told them my company wants to replace the accent lights for a customer. Which was the truth. My company was going to replace the lights for a customer…me. But they would never return an email or phone call. Still looking for a direct replacement for the original accent lights. Standard rope light just doesn’t provide the look I’d like for my coach.

Bob J, I went the same route with 1000 bulbs…that rope is not even close to the original…diameter, look, need new / larger clips, was not happy/just does not look right, so instead of waste it, I used some of the 150ft for floor accent lights, under the bed and stairs where you cannot see the actual rope.
For the rest, stile lights, furniture accent lights, I used LED rope from Vista, same dia and “look” as the original incandescent rope.
These lights are not bulk lights like the ones from 1000 bulbs, made/cut to size with connecting wires attached.BBB, Vista as a co will not work directly with you….contact Krista direct , not the office personnel, she used to be contact for the Conversion manufacturers , she moved into aeronautics, but she will help, she knows the business …hope this helps…

Our Liberty came with two extra replacement light bulbs for the bathroom vanities. I used one about 6 months ago in the half bath and recently one went out in the full bath. So, I used my two ‘extra’ bulbs.
I call my local bulb store and they quote $140 each for the bulb. I go on-line and find 1000 bulbs. I needed a Hikari Halogen, MR11C, 24V, 20W, Flood.
1000 Bulbs had them for $2.67 each (1-24), $2.18 if you buy more than 24. I bought 4. They were the exact same bulbs that I replaced. The shipping charges cost as much as the bulbs! LOL!

I would love to come up with a good source for the lights around my windows. I could care less if they are LED or not. Just need to replace them…
