Something to think about
As most of you know my wabasto went out about a month ago, and hope to get it fixed in florida next week, so in the meantime I have been using the cruise air as much as possible and the toe heater, The aft cruise air is located in the center of the coach. I have been having real good luck with it keeping the bedroom warm even at 20 degrees, Night before last I found out why, the cruise air is using the heat from the bay heater and that is why it was warm down to those temps, got up and found the lav in the head frozen, not a drop would come out. turned the aft cruise air off and one hour later bingo! water was flowing again, the bay heater had a chance to work without the vampire cruse air sucking allits heat!, something to think about! gary

Well I guess you can tell I am ready to get thell out of Dodge and find some warm weather, bought a new to me toad could not find any one to change the hookup from one to the other, Camping world told me they would not use my old parts because of liability, even though I am buying a new tow bar 9000 , finally found someone who saaid it would be no problem and am waiting today to see if it is done then hopefully head to J-ville Saturday morning, For one time I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel, would not be so bad if the dang slide would work, but its day is coming soon I hope, Bored, Gary

Not sure I understand how the Cruisair could take the heat away from the bay heater. On your H, are you saying the bay heater and Cruisair share the same compartment (space)?
On the XLII, the Cruisairs are 2 bays forward of the plumbing bay.

There is absolutely no way a Cruise Air is going to be in or draw air from a storage or water bay. Cruise Airs are always mounted outside bays and will never be exposed to or have access to whatever air is in a bay.

Where would the Cruise Airs be mounted in a Liberty? Are they normally mounted in bays with this builder? In my old bus, they (3) are under my feet behind front bumper. Just curious.

For certain you have two behind the front bumper. In every Liberty I have owned or seen the remaining one or two Cruise Airs have been located in the center of the coach between the second bays which are usually the electric bay on the driver’s side and a storage or entertainment bay on the passenger side. In my 87 access to the Cruise air in that location was through a panel in the rear bulkhead of the first bay. In my 97 and my ciurrent coach access was via a panel in the rear of the entertainment bay.
When a Liberty has 4 Cruise Airs the center 2 condensers are stacked one on top of another. They draw air through a mesh screen in the bottom of the coach, and exhaust the hot air rearward through baffles in the bottom of the coach. The supply and exhaust air flows are separated with a baffle that goes across the coach.

I believe Marathon on some of their conversions also had three behnd the bumper.
It varies with the converter, but I am not aware of any Cruise Air installations that did not have some behind the bumper.

Mine had the third in the little compartment between the tag and the engine on the passenger side. I could not get to it to work on it without removing it every time. It was too hot there for Cruise Air. I think it was probably there because the original owner odered the coach with a mid door and much of the bay space was reconfigured.

Our 1992 40 ft XL Beaver conversion, all three cruise airs are behind front bumper with a Prevost installed air activated shutter system. We can’t heat with ours, we rely on the webasto convector heaters (5) inside.
