Posted by Art on May 13, 2020 at 9:12 am

Someone was talking about a hard or soft start capacitor for their AC’s I can’t remember if it was Roof or basement AC unit what was that? the hotter it is out the higher the head pressure is and makes the compressor harder to start.

Art I had mentioned that in a post regarding a generator. Mine are CruisAir units and each unit has two capacitors both a start and run.

    Don

Not really related to this but I wanted to say Thank You for either posting or commenting recently regarding OTR A/C evap and cond blower solenoids.

My evap blower quit last week and although I searched and couldn’t find post – my memory somehow retained what you had said about those two solenoids (38 and 39 maybe?) and where they were. Tested and the one for evap blower was bad. $66 and a day later I had part from Prevost. Went ahead and ordered two so I’d have a spare.

Notice the heat discoloration on the inside of that plastic box? Not good for solenoid life span. I want to install a small air duct/supply from the cold ac air duct above it. It also needs an outlet. Cold air in, hot air out.
