    In order for that turbo to spin as hard and fast to do that kind of damage it sure is a good way to demonstrate just how much force our engine exhaust can supply.

    I’m guessing however the person responsible might not want to demonstrate that again.

    looks like a awe sh-t moment to me. Can you get away with a new turbin wheel or did it get the shaft or housing.

    What side of turbo is that? It looks clean, no exhaust marking. So where are the pieces that were sheared of the wheel?

    The compression side goes to cylinders. Are those pieces in the engine?

    Most of the pieces would likely get caught in the charge air cooler. I am sure that some could get through, but we mainly found things from a turbo failure in the cooler. Sometimes it required replacement of the cooler too. This was on Cat engines in case anyone was wondering.
