  • Snead sealant

Posted by Jim on January 12, 2015 at 7:30 pm

At last years Tampa rally I remember hearing about Snead sealant. I’m going to go up on the roof to inspect the seams and seals and wanted to make sure I had the right name of the sealer. Also, where can I get some? Thanks. Jim

I have heard from Rick Mays and Ben Cummins at Parliament of a sealer they recommend and I cannot find a link to it. Maybe someone with a better memory than mine can help, or give them a call.

I have used this product when it was sold by Camping World with great success. I masked the area, brushed it on and stripped the masking to provide a sharp clean line.

thanks Jon, any tips on doing this? I’m going to clean the roof and thought it would be a good idea to go over the seams with new sealant while I’m up there.

When I used the sealant it is very thick but flowable. I brushed it on. I masked around the seam I was sealing, brushed it on, and after it flowed smooth I pulled the masking tape while the sealant was still tacky or wet.

It left a sharp edge and the new sealer looked like it belonged instead of looking like an afterthought.

Very effective. Never had a leak on any places I resealed.

As Red said, Pro Flex and you can get it at Camping World. I buy it by the can and brush it on.
