I have no scientific info supporting the use of tire covers. It just makes sense if the coach is in the sun for long periods of time. Since we have to change out the tires every 7 yrs., keeping the sun off of them just might make the tires last longer.

The covers actually keep the wheels clean so I don’t have to rewash them once I’ve done it the first time.

I dust my tires and wheels so i don’t need the covers.

Seriously, if I thought extending the life of tires one extra year was due to covers I would seriously consider them, but the inner drives crack just as much and at the same time as the exposed tires, and the inner sidewalls crack just as much as the exposed sidewalls so my dada suggests the guy selling nitrogen is selling tire covers too.

I guess keeping tire covers on is like the way we cover our dashboards with sunshades. The sun is not our friend whether we are talking about covering our tires or our skin. Ideally, we would cover our coaches if we could all the time protecting the caulking/sealant on the roof.

I do keep 303 Protectant on the tires too for extra protection. And, I use 50 spf sun-block on me!

My slide-out covers on our coach are 7 yrs. old and will need replacement soon. That will be for the next buyer. A huge umbrella over the coach like in the insurance commercial would work but not practical. LOL!
