Slide won’t deploy
Today when I parked in Creede, CO my living room slide would not deploy. The Bus was in neutral, parking brake was on, Level Low was off and HWH was in travel. I had apprximately 125 lbs of air and the engine was running. The tag went thru its routine but the seal did not deflate and the pins made no attempt to release. I manually released the seal air but still no luck with the pins. The coach is a 2002 Royale with a 2000 chassis. The slide is a Prevost first series. I’ve checked the three CBs in the location with the air valves and the 40 amp CB in the rear of the bus. None were tripped. The slide “out” switch displays green for the period of time that it usually take to deploy the slide, the goes out for about 10 seconds followed by two rapid flashes, a pause of about a couple of seconds and then repeats the two rapid flashes and a pause and continues this cycle for as long as I hold the switch in the “out” position.
What’s wrong and how can I fix it. The slide is blocking my liquor cabinet.

I had the same problem once many years ago. This was prior to the prevost community site being up and running. I was at altitude (Steambioat Springs, CO). Called Bill Jensen, and he advised me to try and remove the relay present in the area under the driver’s seat. The relay is in the lower line of the black relays. Mine is marked Slide Controller. It functions not to allow the bus to be moved with the slide out. However, also functions not to allow the slide to move when bus not in park, etc. After turning bus off and removing the relay, then turning bus back on, slide room worked without problem. Replaced the relay and no further problems.
I do not know if this is the problem in your coach, but worth a shot. I have same first gen of slide rooms, and year conversion and same 2000 shell, but different converter.

Mike, I do not have that vintage slide, but do know there are enough variations among the different versions that Prevost used that it is important to get information specific to your coach. Kim is likely correct, but the potential for serious damage on our slides due to a locking pin firing at the wrong time exists.
I would urge you to contact Prevost and have them walk you through the procedures for your coach to either diagnose the problem or over come the problem.
My version of slide controls has a means by which I can manually deflate the seal and I can manually retract the pins. Once those two things are done I can use a slide control in the bay to manually operate the slide motor to bring it out or in. You likely have similar capability but it has to be done correctly for your version of slides.

Thanks for the advice. I couldn’t find the relay and when I called Prevost they said I didnt have one. Pulled into Prevost Fort Worth and Jason had me try the slide again. Wouldn’t you know it, it deployed like nothing had ever happened. Perhaps the pins got stuck when I did a U-turn in the farmers field OR perhaps it was operator error. Whatever, it’s now working and the Prevost bill was my lowest yet.
