  • Silverleaf- VMSPc- DD60

    Good morning all,

Any of you installed the Silverleaf VMSPc on a Detroit 60 with success and good communication ?

I have put the system in many Cummins and CAT’s but this is the first time that either a USB or Serial JIB when connected into the Data port does not read but a few parameters.

Changed the engine to pre 97, post 97, newer, older, Sniffed the PID’s and still can not get the Alllison Transmission to display the status, no Oil pressure, No Coolant temp, No turbo psi, engine hours…

It reads the Tach, miles, fuel rate, battery volts but other gauges are not getting data.

Noticed that when the JIB was connected into the system, the Check engine dash light flashed a couple times with the engine running. As son as I disconnected the Silverleaf JIB, no more Check Engine light.

    Thanks for any suggestions

I run Silverleaf VMSpc (USB version) on our S60. No problems. I can display all parameters except the Allison transmission shift status.

With the check engine light flickering when the JIB is connected, it looks like you have an electrical problem. I’d check cables/connectors/sockets. Have you called the Silverleaf guys?

I have the SilverLeaf Glass Dash not the PC version and I was told by them that that year model coach will not display the transmission position.

Every thing else is a go.

We run the VMSpc set up on our S60 with no real problem as well. Some of the gauges don’t display (coolant level for example), but I also have not put the effort into trying to sniff for the correct PID’s either. Normal pressures, speeds, & temps display fine. I have had some problems with the communications after updating windows 8 & 8.1 sometimes, but have been able to get it back. I would suggest a call to SilverLeaf…I have made several calls & always got good, friendly help with my question. Good luck…
