The shuttle cock valve is is a very simple device. If it is contaminated the shuttle cock could get stuck, but I have never seen this failure.

What makes you think you have a problem with the component?

I don’t have a problem it is the last thing to replace , I know what it does , was just wondering if it could go bad or if anybody has had one go bad, everything on air system is new now . Thanks Tom and Hector.

Think of a tube or valve with 3 openings and a ball inside, when pressure is applied it allows passage to 2 openings or 2 sources, I think.

You Tube , SR1 valve and shuttle cock valve it will explain it , It’s best to understand all of it , it goes to park brake valve and R 14 valve it is in between secondary circuit and primary circuit A ahead of SR1 valve on my bus. It opens to what ever supply has more pressure secondary or primary.
