Heading to Santa Cruz last week we heard a crash in the rear of the bus and Teri walked in the back and some tile came off in the shower hit the floor and broke like glass, The shower is mostly Corian but there is a 6 7/8 wide ban of tile around and previous owner had used Dap around tile for some reason, Now we know why. I used Gorilla duct tape to seal it up for now so we could shower. When we got home I scraped all the tile off and found rotted plywood under tile Bummer, I thought this will be a major job, but I pulled off the rotted wood to find nice clean resin coated marine plywood underneath rotted wood. So it looks like they built plywood structure and sealed it with resin then where tile was they stapled a 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood to build out to tile to. I coated the plywood with Redguard it will seal and let thinset stick to coating on plywood, I bought some 8 X 8 dark gray matt tile some Mapei superflex thinset and Mapie silicone base dark gray grout to seal the new tile, It should modernize the shower a bit and seal it. Monaco did good (Royale) except for leaving that 1/4 piece raw
