  • Shore Cord In Button

Posted by Chuck on June 11, 2016 at 8:41 am

Would anyone know where I can buy this button? I’ve been unable to find a part # on it. Marathon is closed until Monday. The button is will not depress to allow the shore cord to retract. Thank goodness for the remote to rewind the cord! Is there a way to manually retract the cord?

    Chuck,

Assuming you have power to the on/off switch, otherwise the remote wouldn’t work, you could jump the wires for the in/out switch being careful to select the correct polarity if you were in a pinch and the remote wouldn’t work.

As for the switch, Marathon is probably your only option to match.

    Thanks Tom,

I’m guessing that a method of manually rewinding the shore cord is not available. I’m in Kansas, so I may have to drop down to Marathon Texas to get a switch. There is a Techlink relay board with 5 relays located under the sink in the bathroom that controls the function of that panel of switches. I’m about half afraid to jump wires fearful of screwing up that Techlink panel. I’d probably jump the wrong damn wires and screw it up. But if the remote stops working, I have no other option but try to jump that circuit. I hope my remote don’t go south! A person is stuck until he gets his shore cord rewound.

I’m not sure that momentary switch in/out is controlled by the Node Relay. I’ve played around in there as well, my remote is intermittent and I think the switch is wired directly to the motor. Like your’s, the only option I would have if the motor failed would be to remove the fender and manually retract, a pretty easy job because of the ease of removing the H fenders.

I can’t seem to locate the wire antenna for my remote, it’s buried somewhere above the cable can. Would love to update the remote, but sounds like no way to do that on my vintage Glendinning Reel.

Is the switch in the middle is on if that is not on nothing will work in the water bay.

Call me I think we can get that thing working.

I think another PC member manually retracted their cord without removing the bumper, but it was a total pain and very slow. Tom’s solution is no doubt better.

Could you also just take another switch from something you’re not using and move that switch to the power cord in/out? I would think they are all the same part, just labeled differently.

    Thanks Tom, Hish, Tim,

My remote (like Tom’s) is not dependable to work each time the buttons are depressed. Luckily, I remembered that I had a 15′ 50A extention cord on board . So I am using that and attaching it to the shore cord up inside the dump door until I can get a new shore cord switch installed.

I appreciate the help and response,

    Chuck

Stopped @ Marathon Texas and bought 3 new switches. One to replace broken momentary switch and one spare. Also bought one on/off switch for spare. Eaton/Cuttler-Hammer part #s B02A1M-0215 & B01A1M-0514. About $70 each!! Installed and all is well.
