Sewer hose adapter
Posted by Larry & Diane on June 28, 2018 at 12:16 pmThe end of our sewer hose that connects to the bus has broken and no one seems to carry that larger than normal size…. where can I find one please..Is there a specific part number. I couldn’t find any info on the Thetford site? I had a Tom Chilcote shitty experience this past weekend… not fun !!
Thanks and cheers… Diane

Wow Diane, what you gals won’t do to get a pair of new shoes. :O)
On this Forum, we have the TBC (Two Bus Club) and now you and Tom are starting the SSC (Sh***y Shoe Club).
Yeah, I know I will pay for that first comment when we meet, but it is just payback for you taking the photo of Buddy’s ramps in the back of my El Camino when I stole them and he did not know who took them.

Call Troy or Bill and see if either of them can send you one. I have found that the Thetford stuff is somewhat hard to find.
You are talking about the hose end that goes on the fitting on the coach, right? I know they keep those in stock.

I just do an internet search and order what I need on line. Going to a place like Camping World and saying the word “Thetford” gets me nothing more than a dumb blank look.
As an alternative remake the entire gate valve assembly using the Valterra type adapters and then any fitting at a typical RV store will work.

Airstream uses the larger connections so you may find it at one of their dealers

Diane,
Is this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006N5S6C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
what you are looking for? If so I have 2 new ones hanging in my barn, never used. Send me an address and I’ll get them mailed to you over the weekend.
When I rebuilt my water bay I went with the smaller Rhino size fittings so I no longer need these.

I had the ‘claws’ break after 3 years of use. While emptying the holding tank at an RV park in Lake City, FL, I looked back and the adaptor popped off and I made a mad dash to hit the ‘close’ valve button.
Thank goodness it wasn’t a big mess. My California storage facility has a repair shop (Benlo RV) next door where they carry everything RV. They normally have the size that we use but they were out when checking inventory. So, he ordered me two which arrived in a couple of days.

After buying enough of those collars and breaking the ears every time it was dropped, we came up with a new idea…

On Liberty Coaches, if the adaptor breaks, the ground is covered with rose petals. It’s just something we have to live with.
