A friend who no longer has an RV wanted to read Boateral’s posted note from Ron Lee. I told her to go to General Discussion, and now see one must log on to see it. Is this new or did I miss something

Chris or Jim, perhaps you can cut and paste it into an email?

We used to allow 100% access to reading the forum but we required a log in about a year or so ago because every time we would visit advertisers we did not show the type of numbers they wanted to see. Since log in is now required our membership now reflects more accurately the number of people who visit the site routinely and large numbers are not only of great interest to advertisers, the large membership list enables us to get better benefits for our membership.

There is a not so nice side to the restriction of access. Unlimited access by non members also has resulted in people with an axe to grind to take posts out of context or use posts and articles as objects of ridicule for their own perceived benefit. So we have gone even further. We now can limit who can even open the site, much less access or see any part of it. There are too many people who appear to be happy when they are messing things up for people who have a good thing going. And I don’t mean that for just Tom and I, but people who would like to undermine the benefits we all can enjoy through the site.

Sadly, I understand. Too bad others feel this need to screw around causing problems. That I don’t get. Thanks for the explanation
