  • Series 60 ECM Plugs info needed if you have a DDEC

Posted by David on July 7, 2020 at 12:49 am

I just put my ECM back in, and ive got 3 plugs on the front , and 3 ports on the back, but only 2 plugs. It seems strange to me that the middle plug, communications plug, would have no harness or cap. I cant recall when I removed it if there was a harness plugged into it, but I cant find it ANYWHERE. I just cant believe it would have been left empty without a cap. Can you take a peek at your bus and see if you have 3 plugs in the rear of the bus, and 2 in the front of the computer. Its the one that says “communications harness connector”, its on the front side in the middle.

I can’t believe nobody has responded to you yet.

No communication harness on my coach.

I’ll look at mine tomorrow, but it is DDEC V and might be different with respect to use of a communications port.

Well it fires up and gauges work… so guess there was no plug. Ill verify cruise and jake tomorrow when I take it out of the garage for the 600hp test drive!

Yes, sent it to SSPD60 in Pennsylvania and had a 600hp tune put on it, also did a newer bigger turbo and had the overhead set while I was at it.

I replaced the ECM on my DDEC III last year. It came with a rubber cap plug for one of the spaces, I do not remember which one. I was warned not to drive without it, because water would be ruinous.
