Can help with extended stay. Had planned on posting monthly until July just as a invitation without pressureing anyone/anoying. Everything is a go with site paid for! Jon and Scott are getting together to suggest some informal /organized round table etc. As numbers grow programs/plans will increase. The Park has almost unlimited capacity. I even have a plan B for anything over 100. Again I have no finical gain in this non-rally. Any excess in donations will go to parks youth programs. Bob

Tomorrow we are going to meet with Bob Glines so Scott (of Bus Grease Monkey) and I can see if we can get some plans together for the Evansville rally. We will be posting what we come up with.

Di, make sure you keep Jon away from the Donut Bank and their Fruit Fritters. They are like Lay’s Potato chips, you just can’t eat just one!

Bob treated Scott and I to the Fruit Fritters at the Donut Bank. He said if you were there he might have considered buying you one also. He hesitated a little when he said that because he wasn’t sure if he wanted to treat the guy he claims messed up the traffic lights to such a great pastry.

Yesterday I had an opportunity to meet with Bob Glines and Scott Crosby from Busgreasemonkey.com to wrap up some of the details regarding parking before, during and after the Busboy’s rally at the Evansville Greyhound Depot September 22 to 24th.
This rally is not intended to replace or compete with the rally being put on by Stan and Dan Holter, but is to provide a nice safe place for those attending to park their coaches. Bob has put a lot of work and thought into this and Burdette Park is a great location for as many as about 100 coaches. There are two primary areas that we estimate can hold about 70 coaches, they are fully paved and almost flat. There is access to water and a dump station but no access to electric. Coaches will have to rely on generators.
For those whose coaches are going to be parked downtown at the depot this is a great place to safely park prior to and after the rally dates. For those who are coming to view the vintage coaches at the depot this will be a great place for all coaches regardless of make, or vintage to park and enjoy hanging out with other bus owners.
With the mix expecting to be everything from vintage coach conversions to newer Prevost conversions some trash talk is likely to take place and to the best of my knowledge this is going to be the first “rally” that is open to any bus conversion regardless of age or make.
In a short time we will post a sign up instruction sheet that lists the dates, fees, and suggestions for donations to benefit a local charity for children. We are going to need firm reservations to get a sense of the number of coaches coming so plans can be finalized. The dates will be clarified and parking will be based on the sign up date.

Rally weekend :Tropicana casino Sat 24th Race for Cure,21st Blood Sweat and Tears concert,23&24 arts and craft at 4-H center(over 400 venders),also 23 &24 International arts show. 21 thru 24 Quilt Show (big),brewfest at Bosse field (league of their own site). Evansville Zoo and biotanical zoo. Mussle car musem. 22,23and 24 tri-state gun show…..Of course Greyhound Bus Station get together. So ladies and men if you get to much bus stuff or over the top stories.. there is more to do,, Plus many many many Antique shopping oppertunities… We will post a list and directions to events. If you bike (peddal)or motor bring it with you. The park hooks up with a excellant walking trail from the university of Southern Indiana Prob 8 miles. I you want more just ask. New Bluegrass musem might be open by then(45 minute drive) Bob

Just trying to tell the ladies and men with a need to be distracted there are other things going on in the area. Will not effect our plans at all. There is a new air musem that is scheuled to be open about then also. So as you see there is a variety that should intrest someone. or just come hang out with fellow bus owners. Bob

This weekend Bob Glines, Scott Crosby and I met in Evansville to plan for a pre and post rally or parking site for those who want to go to the Busboys Rally at the restored Greyhound depot. Bob Glines has put a lot of thought and effort into this and it should be a great way for those displaying coaches as well as those who want to see the coaches and hang out with other bus people.
The park is going to be a great place for us all regardless of the age or type of coach. I suspect there might be some trash talk so I am hoping we can get some PC members there to show the other coach owners how good looking, smart and talented we all are. Word is the folks from the Bus Grease Monkey site that is working along with PC to help make this happen want to see where us Prevost owners store our bales of Benjamins.
