Seated coach fire
Posted to a Prevost Facebook page. Happened in New York between Long Island and Syracuse. Recently I’ve seen two Prevost motorhomes significantly damaged by fire on FB.
I think there should be a section of the PC Forum dedicated to fires and accidents with the purpose of determining “what happened” so all of us can learn from the misfortune of others.
In some cases there is little or no follow-up in the various media. In some cases a simple email to the fire chief of the incident’s primary fire department would get the pertinent information about “what happened” and we could learn from that. The incident reports might be public information.
In this case …
- Tire pressure got low, the tire caught fire which then spread?
- Bearing lost lubrication, got hot, set coach on fire?
- Fuel line leaked raw fuel onto something hot?
- Vanner equalizer monitor had an internal problem, burned down (happened to me) ,and set back of coach on fire (fortunately didn’t happen to me)?
- A battery went bad and set the coach on fire?
- Passenger was carrying flammable hazardous materials that caught fire?
I think we could all learn from these tragic events.
