Posted by Sam on April 27, 2019 at 10:57 am

    Hi…this is Kim… Beardogs wife.

Since our breakdown in Albuquerque, our route has changed, and are going through San Antonio Tx. Anyone with a recommendation for RV Resorts would be greatly appreciated. Will be there for three nights, arriving tonite. Would love to be close the the river walk area.

    SAN ANTONIO AREA, Texas

Select 60 footers in the 400, 500 and 600 rows. Paved streets and sites. You will have to unhook here, close neighbor probable. Wi-Fi.

    Directions
On Loop 410, exit Hwy 151 and head north on Hwy 151 for 1-1/4 miles taking a left on Potranco Road. Proceed on Potranco almost 1-1/2 miles to Ellison Drive and turn right. The park will be ahead on your left not quite a mile.

This Big Rig recommended campground appears to be closer to downtown:

    TRAVELER’S WORLD RV RESORT
    http://www.sunresorts.com

    SAN ANTONIO AREA, Texas

    Close proximity to downtown with public bus stop. Spaces in the 80 foot range – #84, 85, 90 thru 95 and 97 thru 104. FF: #89, 91, 93, 97, 98 & 103. Wi-Fi. Paved streets. Gravel sites.

    Directions
If on I-35, Exit #150B and head east three miles on Military Hwy to Roosevelt. If on I-37 (Note: 13’ 6” clearance), Exit #135 and head west on Military Hwy 2-2/3 miles to Roosevelt. In both cases, head north on Roosevelt 1-1/3 miles to the park on the left (just after the light at Southcross).

If you don’t have plans and enjoy a cocktail, the Emma hotel at the Pearl Brewery complex is excellent and the converted buildings very interesting. Cappy’s is well known to locals but not a tourist destination for a casual upscale meal.

Sam, while they’re working on the bus. Be sure to replace the differential vent at your convenience. With our extreme altitude changes in the Rockies, this item seems to be the biggest culprit in our experience helping with axle seal demise.

Thank you so much for the reply’s. We ended up at Blazing Star Resort. Very nice and quiet… real close to sea world and fiesta Texas. We are headed to river walk…which is about 15 miles from our Rv.

    Again…thank you.

    Sam,

While you’re out driving around go by Travellers World on Military and check it out… it was very clean and well kept when we stayed there a couple of years ago and right near the Riverwalk… we have been there several times and it was great… best location for sure, but like I said haven’t been there lately. We have stayed at Admiralty a few times but ONLY to take kids to Seaworld… it’s really tight in there… It’s always nice to be able to drive thru in your toad and check it out for the future.

    Cheers, Diane
