Sad day
Posted by Bill on March 15, 2022 at 12:29 amSad day for us. We had to say goodbye to our beloved Buddy. I think he loved our bus as much as I do. He traveled with us to all 49 states. He loved riding in the co-pilot seat with or without a seat mate and loved looking out the window perched on the DS couch while parked…

Our best friend is our dog.The best human friend we have in this world may turn against us and become our enemy. Our son or daughter, we have reared with loving care, may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name, may become traitors to the faith. The money that we have we may lose. It flies away from us, perhaps when we needs it most. Our reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us, may be the first to throw stones of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads. The one absolutely unselfish friend that we can have in this world, the one that never deserts us, and the one who never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is our dog.
Our dog stands by us in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. They will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry wind blows and the snow drives fiercely, if only to be near our side. They will kiss the hand that has no food to offer. They will lick the wounds and sores that were caused by the roughness of the world. They guard the sleep of us, as if we’re a prince, even if we’re a pauper. When all other friends desert us, they remain. When riches takes wing and reputation falls to pieces, our dog is as constant in their love as the sun in its journey in the heavens. If fortune drives us forth as an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, our faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying us, to guard against danger, and to fight against enemies. When the last scene of all comes, and death takes us in its embrace and lay our body away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by the graveside will be found our noble dog, their head between their paws, their eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death.Author Unknown -
Yes Bill, I remember Buddy your very friendly family member. Sad to read Buddy is making his way over the Rainbow Bridge.
Not many dogs will ever come close to the miles Buddy has traveled in your Prevost Bus.
Please pass along to your family… I’am sorry to read about Buddy.
RIP..Buddy

Thanks Don! I will save that piece. I have had the same experience with my cats even though few people realize how faithful a cat is who is raised as part of the family. We spend nearly every waking hour together and the love given, while different than a way a dog expresses it, is no less wonderful. We miss our Casey, Simba, Squeasel, Piggy, Woody and Kitty Cat so much but feel very privileged to have shared some portion of our lives with these wonderful animals willing to give all with no expectation of rewards.
Best Wishes to all!

So very sorry to learn of Buddy’s passing… Our dogs become one with us, are incredibly loving and forever hold a special place in our hearts and memories.

For many years years we showed Dogue De Bordeaux’s or trained them in protection sports. Like clock work we have learn they have a life span of 8 to 10 years. We had over 8 Dogues over the years. Our oldest now is 9.5 years. They are always different personalities and bring much joy. All of these Dogues will join us after life ends on this earth. Sorry for your loss.

Some of the worst days of my life are when I lost a dog.
Words don’t have enough oomph or impact for these moments.
