Rudy and Aqua Hot
diesel would not fire and was using electric..after calling Rudy who I have never met before he took the time to expain the sequence to ck. he was right , the hight limit dc thermostat was not working thus stopping the diesel burner from firing. after ordering a new thermostat and installing today all is perfect. how valuable is a guy like rudy? even invited me to stay at his house in texas if i ever get bye that way, some of the nicest people are on this site…. Had the opportunity to use Rudy’s services about a year and a half ago. Rendezvoused
with him off I-10. Had me and Cli on our merry way in less than 15 min. Most knowledgeable about Webasto. Great guy would give you the shirt off his back.

Thank you Rudy. Up here in Michigan the Bus is still tucked away, but that will change in the next couple of weeks. Things seemed a little quirky with Aqua Hot last fall, so I will check into this again, and call accordingly. Thanks so much for your offer to help. I really appreciate it.

If your burner has been sitting unused for months, it will need to be serviced no matter how new the nozzle might be.
Diesel congeals over time in the stone filter of the nozzle affecting the spray pattern. Running the burner once per month or more is very good for keeping the nozzle and the exhaust clean.

I’m still trying to figure out how to Manage the systems since I am a “new owner” in the last 12 months… I have occasion to Park the Bus at my home, but due to current logistics, i can NOT plug it into “Shore Power”… so I need to Run the Gen Set, under “Auto Start” to keep the Rig “Happy” … I am under the imprssion that the Gen needs to be running FULL TIME, if I choose to use the Aqua Hot/Wabasto when I need to Keep the coach “Warm” over night in the MICHIGAN Early Spring, etc…. ??? Is that right?
Please Advise…

To run the Aqua Hot, one needs 12 vdc power and diesel fuel (more than 1/4 tank of fuel). How you keep the house batteries the Aqua Hot draws power from charged is up to you. But once the gen has them charged up, the Aqua Hot will run just fine.
You can run it for one heating cycle or always on to heat the coach in firgid weather. Just use the gen to keep house batteries charged.

Both Webasto and AquaHot tend to use a relatively large amount of battery power just because of the amount of power drawn to run the burner unit, circulating pump(s) and the fans at the heat exchangers. If I run my Webasto I also tend to run the generator, but as Rudy says as long as your batteries have a good charge you do not need to run the generator.

So Set the GEN on “Auto Start” and let the system Manage itself accordingly? … Batteries are strong and fresh.
