Not sure about those routes but you will have a great time in the Black hills. We stayed a week in the area and it was not enough time to see everything.

If your starting from that far south it’s all good. If your up by I80 that runs you south of the city and no issues either.

It’s all corn country across there, choppy road. I might turn north a little quicker and go up 35 to 90 but it’s all preference.

Thanks, Bernie!!! So we can stay on the PA turnpike to 80/90 than 355 to 90. To avoid Chicago traffic.

355 is gonna take you thru some of the most populated suburbs of Chicago, I wouldn’t do it unless it’s late at night. You could get hooked in heavy traffic if you hit it at the wrong time of day.

I would stay on 80 thru Joliet and just west of there it’s wide open country and take either 35 or 880/ 29 up to 90.

We used the PA Turnpike from our to 80/90 West and stayed on 80 West to Joliet then 880 West to 29 North then 90 West. The road was pretty good not a lot of construction. The traffic was not bad. The only downside is tolls. With stacker, the PA Turnpike was $247.80, Ohio $76.50, Indiana $89.30, and Illinois $5.80. So the total toll for the round trip of $838.80.

    Yes Sir Randall.

Penn has the honor of being the most expensive toll road in the USA and the World. You were charged as a Class 7, 6 axle vehicle I believe. To drive a car across Penn on the Turnpike is $118.80 @ 0.25 cents per mile.
