I agree that the noise levels associated with roof airs are probably the same across the board.

Each type of AC (Cruiseairs or roof mounted) each have their benefits and drawbacks. If I did not have OTR I would insist on roof air units and accept the noise or vibration levels. The performance of a Cruiseair is compromised when relying on them while driving on a super hot interstate because they are picking up the heated air coming off a highway that can easily be hot enough to burn you.

The Cruiseairs are serviceable but if one has to be replaced it is expensive.

A roof air is relatively inexpensive and can be found at almost any large RV shop. A roof air is breathing cooler air well above the roadway so it is not adversely impacted by the heat radiating from the highway

Everything is a compormise. BTW, nobody is using Cruiseairs as a basis for picking on Dometic because they also are made by Dometic.

Thanks for the kit number. I will get it ordered and see if that solves my problem.

Tom, no problem. Looking at the kit it appears to have isolators for the feet of the compressor and isolator pads for some of the tubing that is in close proximity with the air box. I can see how they will take the vibration out , they’ll work like our generator with the airbags inflated. Without the isolators it is like our gens with the airbags deflated.
