  • Rolling on ramps in manual mode?

Posted by Art on July 7, 2024 at 12:54 pm

Never done this before but I’m getting ready to service the Allison B500 oil and filters so I’m going to put the bus on the ramps I built in 2017. It would be a little easier if rear of the bus was 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch higher then drive mode, so could I put in manual mode raise rear up a tad and drive up on to ramps, I know the Low level light is on dash but is that all it will do?? My Foretravel had HWH on it so in manual mode would change to drive mode when you put in to gear and it would go in to drive mode.

    Hi All,

I have a set of ramps like that for sale in Leesburg, FL. $500.00 and you pick up or arrange shipping. They are heavy but very solid.

Sounds like you got up on the ramps without advice from the Forum and everything worked out.

If I were doing it, I would have probably driven up in “Drive Mode” and then manually raised the rear once I got the coach stabilized and chocked.

Thinking now, I’m guessing it doesn’t make much difference either way. Raising the coach before you drive up gives you more clearance around the ramps in the rear, but lowers the front a bit … but apparently that didn’t make any difference.

The two Exhaust pipes for gen and aqua hot come out in front of driver side drive tire clears the ramp but close, so I raising back of bus 1/2 inch is better, I tested it before I put ramps under,In manual no problem, Last 5 foot the front goes up and have stops on all ramps, Amazing how easy it goes up on ramps, I always have a spotter for me when I drive up, Today I gave it a once over while it was on ramps, Tomorrow I will pull it off ramps drive it up to temp and check dipstick then shift pad for fluid level. As for waiting for forum I’m impatient and some times no replys so I figure it out.
