First stop is the Prevost Community Forums, followed by Jeff at ETLC (and that’s mostly due to I dont want to bug him after hours because you never break down at noon on a monday, it’s always around 5 on a Friday), then Prevost and their network of “approved” service centers.

For me, I have found that there is no one single answer. But it doesn’t matter who I select to come to me, I always check in with the forums and Jeff (when possible). With the vast amount of experience on these forums, no mechanic running a road side service truck will come close to. I may not know how to fix it, but with the great guidance I get from these forums, i can make sure who ever is working on my coach isn’t going to make matters worse.

I sent one guy away as I just didnt feel he was going to do the best repair for me. Sat in a crack/whore motel parking lot in the bad part of west Atlanta for the night (you never break down in front of a Ritz Carlton), waiting till the next morning so I could get a better mechanic to come help me.

Coachnet. Just renewed today for $129.50. Covers bus and all my other vehicles. Over 10 years I’ve needed them 4 times for my bus and once for a car. Service has been great.

I have roadside service included with my Hartford insurance policy……….used them a couple times……..worked well for me.

Also have Good Sams…….gonna let it lapse at the end of the year……..we have a difference of opinion(s) on what ‘service’ is supposed to be………….and……..I’m right and they’re wrong, naturally!

One thing I’d add here……..I wouldn’t travel without some kind of coverage.

Most services use same repair people no matter where its Coachnet, Good Sam, Your Insurance Company ETC.

We have had tow services with Coach Net since1996. During this time we paid $2,185 in premiums and have had tow services totaling in excess of $4,000. Obviously in our case a favorable experience. As stated earlier they are all essentially the same. You just need to quickly determine the knowledge of the dispatcher. If you need roadside service and s/he does not understand the issue, request a supervisor. If you need to be towed and s/he state you can be towed to the closest Toyota or Nissan request a supervisor. Your steering the conversation will ensure obtaining needed services. Oh, remain calm and be patient we are not dealing with an EMS provider. Its tow and roadside services, most of which don’t routinely deal with coaches. You will need to help steer them in the direction you need for “appropriate” services.
