  • ROAD AIR, NO REAR BLOWER

Posted by joel on October 17, 2021 at 7:44 pm

Anyone run into this lately…driver air blows cold, condenser fan obviously running but no rear blower. I assume there’s a blower somewhere to check, rheostat switch on dash, circuit breaker for rear only??

Evap blower 3rd bay back driver’s side. There is an electrical box containing two solenoids, one each for evap and condenser blowers.

I had same issue, mine was evap blower solenoid.

Sounds like the evaporator 24v fan motor is inop for some reason. There is a CB-8 (circuit breaker) for the evap fan on the bottom of a plastic electrical box in the condenser bay (3rd bay passenger side). There is also R38 relay inside this box that is prone to fail. And maybe it’s time to change the evaporator fan motor brushes.

    Thanks for the responses.

Pretty sure I found the problem…I’m taking it apart today. The rheostat on the dash has been a little loose for a while and I think it got twisted in the mounting too far and messed something up. The blower started working when I attempted to put the switch back in it’s correct position.

Don gave a much better explanation than I did :-). His post awhile ago led me to find my relay issue. I obviously couldn’t remember which side the relay box was on – thought it was evap bay – obviously not.

Thanks, folks. It actually turned out to be the R38 relay.
