Thanks Don for the good info. I had taken the bus to Prevost in Hayward, and I just assumed, when they did the lube service, they would know about this issue and make sure the calipers weren’t over greased. It may or may not be an over greasing issue, I won’t know until I can get a good look at it. It may be just a coincidence that the caliper locked up just after service. But I had no brake issues before the service. At last inspection, at Prevost, I was told both pads and discs looked good, and as such they did not do a brake service.

Luc, all I know is most disc brake systems are installed without helper springs. I have no idea why, with the very modest extra price, they are not include in the brake system purchase.

Helper springs are Meritor parts, not after market or good idea from another manufacture. So Meritor likes them enough to produce them.

Thanks Rudy, That’s good enough for me.

Do I buy them directly from Meritor?
