Retarder failure
On recent trip we heard a pop coming from the dash and then the lever on steering column was inop. Took it to Allison shop in Charlotte and after their diagnosis I was told that this lever was a dummy lever and wasn’t ever to work, DUH! I refused the bus and called Prevost who in turn called the shop and sent a wiring diagram showing the wiring and the resistor module. After looking the shop did find that this wiring had come detached from the module; maybe due to the steering wheel being tilted to its most up position.
I realize that this doesn’t happen often but just wanted to inform the group.

How did the service manager and the tech respond after getting the wiring diagram from Prevost and finding the wire unplugged?

Simply by saying that “we learned something, didn’t we” and I just kept my mouth shut.
They did reduce the labor rate for me as consideration, LOL!
