Replacing RVAC Central AC unit
Has anyone had any experience in replacing the RVAC unit in a Vantare? If so, what Brand unit did you use to replace, and how did it turn out and perform? Cost etc?

There is a 2 Ton Coleman unit available as a direct replacement.
Terry Millard had one installed on his 99 Vantare and loved it.
Colder air and less amp draw if I remember correctly.
We had our totally rebuilt and it works great… I know Coachworx can do that for you.
You might call Ben Cummings about the Coleman unit, I understand its a pretty straight forward replacement.
I believe Terry is a PC member.

That would be my choice and if my memory serves me correctly the cost was around $5K … be sure and keep us posted!!

You planning to do the work yourself or have someone do it for you. I ask because I have 2 2 ton basement colemans in my self converted conversion and can walk you through the install for air, electrical, etc if you are doing it yourself.There is a 2 ton coleman basement heat pump on ebay that a man has had on there for about a year at $3800. Units not worth that, should be able to buy them rebuilt for about $1000 from salvage guys.

So far, working on it myself.
Tonight, I found a burnt wire on the circuit board.
Does anyone know where I can find one, or get this one repaired?
It goes to a RVAC.

So far, the Coleman units no longer vent out the top. The ones we’ve found vent out the side, which will not work.

I got it working!
I could not find a connector like the one burned in the pictures above. So, I took them off the board, and soldered the wires back in the holes that the connector was in, and then used butt connectors to connect the wires to the ones on the AC unit.
Turned it on, and it’s cooling again!
Still working on finding a correct Coleman unit, with the ductwork in the same place as what I have.

Jerry, glad to hear you fixed it. I hope that in some small way my comment about my AC guy in Milwaukee making a new board for me was inspiration. It is usually the electronics that fail in the RVAC and they can be repaired or rebuilt. Te rest of it is just normal AC stuff. Geo

George is right it’s usually the board our RVAC board had jumpers all over the back of it from repairs ! Then we got it done right!

Yea George, you did. Once I looked closely at the board, I could see the problems. Do you or Diane have the name of the company you used to make a replacement board?
