Jerry, my guess is in two parts. If the existing seat still has good upholstery and padding it might be relatively easy to rebuild the seat. Once the seats are off the base they are easy to work on.

But if that is noit a reasonable option I cannot think of why a good captains chair from one of the high end SUVs would not work well. You might have to create a new base but that would not be hard.

Don’t forget to check with converters like Marathon to see if they have any spare parts or better yet seats removed when they did an interior refurbish. Contact them all. You never know what they might have sitting around.

I replaced my ISRI with a flex steel captain’s chair – and kept the air ride!

I was able to easily remove the pedestal and air scissors unit from the ISRI and then attach it to the captain’s chair. I get the flexibility of the electric adjustments, the air ride, and don’t have to drill new mounting holes in the floor.

One of the previous owners of my coach had replaced the air ride with electric captain chairs. They are big chairs. Very comfortable. However, I have never been able to get either seat to work. Doesn’t bother me because mine is positioned where I like to drive and Tammie’s positioned where she like to sit. It would be nice to be able to adjust them.
