Replaced Dinette table with bar top
I’ve seen in some of the newer model buses where they have went with a bar top in lieu of a table. As we have a non slide coach I really liked this idea so I removed the old table and chairs and installed a new corian bar top and bar stools. Here are some before and after pics.

Sweet! That looks great. Do you need to secure the chairs/stools, or do they stay put while driving?

Great idea and nicely done…..gives you a much better flow thru with the counter.

The bar stools really don’t move. I have felt pads on the feet so they don’t scratch the floor.

Nice job Dean. Our’s is the same and we really like it. Marathon provided covers for the seat backs and straps under the table that you can secure the chairs while driving. It also has a plug underneath with a hole and plug in the table for power cords. I don’t need the straps, but Jon miight!

Sweet Dean looks good , I am a kitchen table man drink coffee watch tv, talk to visitors , but always thought that the bar looked cool maybe one day I will try it. Nice upgrade

It may not have happened yet, but from experience I can tell you that stools and chairs need to be secured because they will slide or tip or both.
If you are forced to take an emergency turn like a lane change or if you have to do a panic stop the stools and chairs are going to move or tip and the risk is when that happens they can damage something. On our previous coach a tipping chair damaged the vitricor and a panel had to be replaced. But if the worst should happen and the coach hit something or started to roll the loose furniture becomes a flying missle. Protect yourself and your interior by creating some method to inhibit the free movement of the chairs or stools. We used straps that secured stuff while we were driving. They were put away in a drawer when we stopped.

I see in my Marathon that there are the latches for the straps for dinette and lounge chairs but I have found no straps yet, may have to make something up!
