Removng the Mystery
This thread could be placed anywhere, but it seems most owners consider either the pneumatic system or the electrical system (or both) to be the mysterious part of our coaches.
I will not minimize their complexity, but after three coaches over 22 years I can say with confidence a little understanding of the systems will help almost everyone make educated decisions when problems or the need for maintenance arise. For example, taken as a whole the suspension system on our coaches seems like a nightmare when something isn’t right. Making it worse is when someone takes a coach to someone who works on heavy vehicles (but is not familiar with a Prevost) to solve a suspension problem more problems can be created or bank accounts can get vacuumed clean.
On another thread Susan is having a problem that sooner or later is going to affect every long term owner. All our coaches are going to lean as components age, and if all owners had just a basic knowledge of how the suspension system functions problems such as the leans are just not so overwhelming. But if her problem was not related to a possible leak, but a component failure with a little information she could get specifc and correct answers on this site because of the abundance of knowledge available combined with access Prevost provides to their diagrams and service manuals.
With Prevost supporting this site and with knowledgible owners also able to offer free advice (worth every cent you pay for it) most questions can be answered and problems solved. If something is not right with your coach, don’t suffer without at least getting some support here at PC (an obvious and shamless plug).
