  • Removing Clothes Dryer in Vantare

Posted by Jerry on May 21, 2015 at 11:50 pm

Has anyone removed a Whirlpool clothes dryer in a Vantare?

Something is holding mine from being slid all the way out. It’s unplugged, no screws or bolts anywhere attached to it. I’m thinking it may be the vent. Took closet apart next to it, but can’t see what’s holding it, or if it’s the vent.

    Any tips?

Jerry, most likely the vent. Ours had the oh so splendid Slendide and it was vented through the floor as is now our stacked units. Geo.

I must be the only one with a splendide vented combo machine that lives it…works great for me! I agree check for the vent, do not think there could be much more holding it up from coming out!

My dryer is on top, sitting on a shelf. There is no vent going to the floor, it must be going out the roof, but I can’t see it even with a mirror.

I can slide it out about 6 inches, and then it stops.

Some dryers have a garden hose to discharge the moisture,is this possible?

Jerry, our combo sat in the middle and the new dryer sits on a shelf above the washer and still vents through the floor. Look on your roof, I doubt that you’ll find a vent. Geo.

Well, I finally figured it out, even though, I haven’t figured out how to get the bracket loose. The only way I could see back there was to slip my iphone between the cabinet wall and the side of the bus and take a few pictures. Here is what I found. There is no vent going to the floor, It does go out the roof. And the vent looks a little overkill to me.

I need a real skinny arm, or a robot! First picture sideways for some reason.

Fixed it for you Jerry.. Truk

George, here is what the roof vent looks like on mine. Featherlite really went to a lot of trouble to build this dryer vent. They must have built the coach around it. I finally had to remove the shelf it sat on, and drop it straight down. Not easy.

Truk, you need to fix these too, don’t know why they do that.

Jerry, quite a difference with only 1yr between our shell yrs. Are you sure that your was not retro-fitted from an original combo w/d before you got it ? Geo.

    George,

Everything appeared to be origninal, cabinetry, wiring, plumbing, all looked to be original, and like the rest of the interior.

The vent pictured in the previous picture on the roof, matches the vent for the exhaust fan over the galley.
