Refrigerator repair
Well, I learned something new today, pretty good for an old dog. Removing a fridge is not as hard as one would think. First cut 3/4″ plywood or chipboard to fit on the floor in front of the fridge, then turn off power, with a plastic knife work the trim off above the door, it is put on with silicone, have to be very careful here it is thin. then remove the 4 screws behind it . On mine I also had to remove the latches for the door first. Then removed the toe board or plastic peice on the bottom front, remove two screws that hold the fridge from moving, then with a small crow bar lift up fridge about 1/8″ to remove leveling strip this is on the front behind the toe board. Then the fridge just rolls out and is easy to turn to get to the back to work on removing the panels over the mother board and the compressor, this is also a good time to vaccum all dust and such from the condensor etc. My problem was the computor board. have one on order, When talking with Troy at Liberty he says they rarely ever remove a fridge from a coach any more and with the GE Profile it is usually the computor board. You know I dreaded the thoughts of pulling that fridge out but as with many things in life, things are not half as bad as they seem. gary
