Have a look in your water bay. On my 02 Marathon it is on curbside water bay, shutoff valve for water that leads to a filter before heading up into the bus and finally the Amana. Mine is labelled Ice maker.

is in the same place, but I have to remove a panel to access the
inline filter. The shut off is next to the water heaters and labeled.

I would hope before anyone who is buying a coach does a full inspection / training session prior to a coach purchase. While getting water to a refrigerator is not a big deal, to me it is a warning flag. Why was it turned off in the first place? Why did the seller and buyer not go over such details? Was there a leak?

My point is far too often we learn new owners who are overwhelmed by the purchase of a coach end up learning of major problems the hard way after a purchase. Every single member of PC who has purchased a coach has that feeling that the coach is complex, scary, and is so complicated they will never figure it all out. Because of that far too many coaches are bought without proper training and inspections.

Great point………I fit all of your descriptions.

Circumstances sometimes forego the longer/ time consuming exams and checkups.

I relied heavily on Bruce (bruce coaches) who gave this coach a high rating claiming to have

maintained it forever(or close).

I’m in Illinois(no bonus points for that)…..coach was in Canada…..met in Billings Montana to make

the purchase.

Checked a lot/ missed a lot……..didn’t check every plug or outlet……motor and trans seemed to operate fine/ all the lights worked…….pushed lots of buttons and things came on(made noise).

20 degrees outside………..do the ac units work……..no clue.

Heater(s) work.

I didn’t remove the bra….should have.

I didn’t go on the roof……should have.

But…..I believe I basicly have a good coach that with a little/ some/ several tweaks and tunes is gonna make me happy.

A tad poorer, but I’ll keep her and the lesson(s) I learned.

….and keep on asking what the hell that button is for!!!

Bendare……..You and every one of us was or is in the same boat. As sellers a new owner is so much in awe of all there is to know we can waltz the buyer right past a problem that he will never realize until he is long gone.

As buyers for the first time we are literally incapable of checking everything out. Even seasoned owners buying for the second time we realize we cannot cover everything and the best we can do is try to catch as much as possible and rely on luck or the seller’s honesty to take care of the rest.

I am not trying to enlist more PC members when I say this, but a new owner’s best advice and assistance can come from other members who have knowledge of a particular coach, who have the same conversion, or who can share information on what to look for.
