A number of owners have equipped their coaches with a multiplier. The stated reason is to provide a higher pressure for those times when it is needed such as to fill tires.

I have found on those rare occasions when I have needed to inflate a tire or use high air pressure that the engine driven compressor works within a 100 to 120 PSI range so ample air pressure is available when needed as long as I run the engine. My aux compressor is set at a much lower pressure since nothing in the aux system that is used when the engine is off needs anywhere near the pressure the engine driven compressor provides.

Remember an increase in air pressure downstream from a multiplier comes at the expense of air flow or volume. To get the higher pressure you sacrifice the volume of air flow which I think is inversely proportional to the pressure increase.
