RCT 553 Auto signal switcher
What is this unit do?
There is a wire dangling and a jumper on two terminals.
Jeff at ETLV says it is not supposed to be jumpered suggest it is shorted.

takes signal for coach and makes it compatable to something being pulled behind bus. Trailer/car/truck etc

So the switcher only works for towed vehicles?
can disconnect and will not affect bus lights

Take the cover off, there are fuses inside fro each circuit. It is most likely a blown fuse. If it had failed, I believe I
have a spare of these available. -
Company that made this is still in business and you can order one from them as well…Yes only is for tow wiring….As long as the wires are protected from the coach side you could remove it…
