Rancor fuel filter
Went to start coach yesterday and did my check of the engine bay and things , well the racor fuel filter was leaking a little bit of fuel from one of the bolts that hold on the clear bowl , they can leak after a while , it’s important to check things like that because if left alone it can start to suck air in fuel system and will be hard to start if it will start , most of the time if you try and tighten or loosen the bolts it breaks off and now you are screwed
so putting new one on is the way to go

Did a new O ring cure the problem? When I had the Racor filters and occasionally serviced the bowl if I saw anything in it, I always inspected the O ring before reassembling it.

I don’t rebuild shit I put new one in not worth my time to rebuild it , it’s 12 years old , the plastic bowl can crack and you will not know and it will suck air not worth it to save a few bucks

Peter, seriously?
The bowl is a service item and on occasion it has to be removed just to clean it if it gets cloudy. Do you replace the engine instead of replacing those pesky oil filters?

I know Jon I have had the bowl off to clean it before ,it’s old and only cost 2500 for new one , just my way

Peters coach is like a entertainer coach in that he relies on his coach and does not want to have to deal with issues on the road. His filter assembly has been removed and cleaned, replaced o-rings multiple times. The bolts to housing are also problematic on some coaches. So for this coach the decision was to replace the housing. He will be running this coach for a while yet and is part of maintance for him.

Just breaking your chops Peter. I fully understand why a 10 or 15 year old filter that has had a lot of service may be ready for replacement.
But for others who do not run the roads like Peter does your supplemental filters like the Racor are fully serviceable and are very easy to work on.

You are right Jon most people can just service it but mine has had lots of service so I put new one on it works great now
