Radiator rebuild
In going through the coach and updating some maintenance issues, I determined to replace the remote radiator for the Kabota Generator.
The radiator received from PowerTech / Florida has a “neck hose connection” that is 7 3/8ths inches from the left shoulder. It is exactly where the exhaust pipe sits. It needs to be approximately 16 inches from the shoulder.
PowerTech has no other replacement radiator.
Has anyone had to have a radiator built to specs for such a purpose?
We are seeking the name of the company that might build to the specs provided to them.

Pres, I’m sure you’ve thought of this, you should have a good radiator shop close locally that can recore yours. Just a thought.
Over the years I’ve always had good luck up here with Omaha Radiator.

The lower tank is leaking and is corroded.
I plan to take the new radiator to a radiator shop along with the old one and have them compare the two. It is possible that I might take the top tank off of the new one and have a new neck installed while closing the unused neck. Then it would work.
The cost of doing so would be compared to the cost of having to build a new frame in the wall “set back” so that a hose could be installed with the new one as it is.

Summit is where I bought my radiator fan to add to my system. They sell a lot of good race radiators for sure that could fit a lot of applications.

The conclusion is to have a radiator shop take the new radiator and remove the top “tank” from the radiator. We are then cutting off the neck of the hose connection that is incorrectly positioned, sealing it and then repositioning the new “neck” at the position on the top tank where it fits.
We will then pressure test for leaks, etc.
It will now fit.
We are home free with a minor adjustment. It is self-evident that older radiators are not kept in stock. We got a new one that was close and adapted it.

Yep, Lots of good radiators custom made for old Hot Rods that are aluminum. By the time You figure in the cost of modifying one to match Your old one. You might be better off to get an aluminum one made ? They cool better too !
