Questions on Florida

I have not had to use my a/c for several months…heat is another thing. We sure burned through the propane this winter! But it is supposed to be above freezing most days next week so that is progress. We usually see Florida in the summer which is kind of backwards, but that is how it goes.

People from poorly run, heavily taxed states such as NY and CA are welcome in TN as long as they leave their former state’s political leanings back where they come from.
Les you may think it is a badge of honor living here 200 years, but when we were moving here and needed the address for our satellite service changed the guy from customer service who was given our new TN address asked my wife if we were being punished.
Interesting that Tom, a recent FL transplant from GA, is now complaining about the snowbirds who are propping up the FL economy. I bet the FL natives see him as part of the problem.

My two cents worth again.
First of all, I do winters in Naples, FL. I’ve had a place here at Pelican Lake for about twelve years and wouldn’t consider relocating. The ten year old coach issue is not an issue. I feel that it’s as near perfect as it can get.
Second, does anyone know why seemingly Georgia (and I’m a Georgia native) got the, now how do I say this without getting into political incorrectness, all or most of the undesirable elements of our current society and Florida seemingly got the folks from north of the Mason Dixon Line, or Yankees to us natives?
The answer is simple. Georgia got first choice.
And one more thing. Georgians who spend Winters in Florida aren’t Snow Birds. We’re Frost Birds.

You just can’t beat TN, taxes aren’t bad, we have good water and the weather is pretty decent (4 season’s). Coach tag renewal is less the $100 a year (not based on value).
My family has been in TN for 100 years this year. Before that, they were farming and making a living in Italy. Dad was born 200 miles south of Venice in a small town on the Adriatic. Still have cousins there.
Anyway, I sure do love the low humidity in the California desert. Thanks to proposition 13, our taxes aren’t bad. Actually, after having the house in CA for 23 yrs, the property taxes are equal to TN and the value is 4 times more in CA.
And, you have to love Florida because Liberty Coach is there!

I’m to understand that Tom has been hanging around Disney World with a lovely young lady and while he was last seen mounting a banshee for a flight through the world of Avatar, it’s a very strong possibility the powers that be may be throwing a parade in his honor and later this evening having a massive fireworks display to thank him for stopping by. Yes, the natives of the Animal Kingdom were happy to see them!
I’ll add that like Les, my roots are from Tennessee!
