Questions on a H3-45
Posted by Chip & Pam on January 7, 2018 at 11:18 pmThere is a bus at Legacy Coach Pam wants to see. It is a Featherlite/Vantare H3-45. It has vin# 2PCV33499Y1013790.
Do any of you know the back story on this coach? It’s a shot in the dark but if I were to find out anything on this coach I figured y’all would know.

That bus caught my eye too. Seems to be well priced for way it is optioned.
Don’t worry, the floorplan does not work for us… Our shopping continues. I hope to leave the EXPO in February with a better idea of what we want or even with one of the buses that have our interest.
Happy Trails!

Chip,
I am curious how that coach can be a 2002 coach when the serial number is Y-3790 and my 2000 coach serial number is Y-3859 (69 units later)
According to my Prevost and Featherlite permanent stickers, my coach Y-3859 was manufactured 04-00, conversion completed 12-00 and first sold Jan-2001
That coach has later front (full height windshield vs. 4 panel windshield) cap with different headlights and later rear tail lights, but the serial number confuses me. When you examine the coach, open the door below the driver and check out the stickers on the left hand top of the door and it will tell you the Prevost (top sticker)and Featherlite (right below Prevost sticker) dates.
Everything inside the bays looks identical to my coach with the exception of the bar across the front bay. Interior almost identical. BTW, I LOVE my coach and I can possibly assist in telling you about some of the hiding places. It says it has the updated Basement Air, so check if you have access to the OTR air filter as the new Coleman unit can block access. (ask me how I know this.) Also Ben Cummings at USA Luxury Coach in Clear Water, FL probably has the original electrical drawings if they are not included.

There were a couple of converters who had product that did not sell. Vantare and Parliament are two that come to mind. As manufacturers they were allowed to assign the model year so they had conversions with titles as much as 3 or 4 years older than the Prevost chassis year.
I remember looking at one in Kerrville at a rally that had a chassis and engine build date four years old and the coach was never titled and was being sold as new with the current year on the title.
Most coach titles are usually one year newer than the chassis.

Thanks to all. We are going there today to put eyes on it

That coach has had the front cap updated, supposedly by Prevost. Somewhat interested in it…James is trying to get more back story info. Has had multiple owners. Geo.

Went and looked at it. It is a nice coach. It has not had its PDI yet and Brandon said he has to get all the items he has found fixed. We will mull over what would we shall do. I do like the fact the front suspension was done.
as for the Featherlite data plate, I could not find it. There was a Prevost plate in the drivers side door panel. Here is the plate. It is a 2000 chases.

Not uncommon at all for a chassis to be 2 years older than conversion.
