Robert: I wouldn’t do anything to discourage you from buying a brand new Prevost or have one built for you bespoke, especially if you’re in a position to do it. Its coach buyers like you and Mr. Mark who provide most of the rest of us with pre-owned coaches to choose from. Plus it keeps the converters, their staffs, and their parts and pieces vendors busy as well as Prevost interested in us and our older coaches.

That said, sounds like your RV/MH experience was similar to ours before we bought our Prevost. I had rented Class C’s a couple of times, a late-80s Prevost CC for a weekend, and had the privilege of traveling in a friends Liberty Prevost a number of times. Our Prevost is the first “RV” we’ve ever owned.

After buying our coach and using it a number of times, including living and traveling in it for a month I realized that spec’ing out a “new coach” is a huge responsibility. While we really like our Liberty, if I was spec’ing out a new coach based on “living in it” I would have some things done for us special. Its mostly little stuff like placement of light switches, outlets, powered USB outlets, more circuits for convenience outlets the length of the coach, Crestron screens on either side of the bed, Webasto on/off icons on the now two bedroom Crestron screens, 30/50amp buddy plug at the rear of the coach for the race trailer, auxiliary air taps in the bays near the tires (who wants to drag a long hose around), 120volt outlets on the sides of the coach for neighbors at the race track, etc. Your wants and needs will be likely different from ours or Mr. Mark’s, or Jon’s or Diane’s.

Most of these things are the kind of stuff I probably would not have thought of if I was spec’ing out a new coach without any experience.

So Robert if you go down the route of having a coach built for you, try and figure out how to get some experience in a very recent coach. Lease a coach for a month or two. Attend the All Prevost Show in Florida in early 2018. Talk to other Prevost owners. Ask them what they would do different in their coaches if they could snap their fingers and get it. Put all the stuff in your notes. You’ll make better decisions with those experiences.

I haven’t heard one word about anyone saying anything to SID about buying a brand new 2018 Marathon.

Any reason why he hasn’t received a little bit of ‘hell’ for buying new?

Yep, the California dream team has pulled the trigger twice with new Marathon bus buys.

Congrads to both, those guy’s have had very successful business careers….they have earned it.

I absolutely agree! They certainly deserve it!

But, hey, a little digg’n at them wouldn’t hurt, right?

We had the pleasure of meeting both guys at the Motorcoach Country Club in Indio, CA, when we stopped by there when our bus was new. Certainly nice meeting the guys.

There must have been three or four fella’s that stopped by, I’m just trying to remember everybody, I certainly remember Sid and Bernie. It was such a quick visit.

Sid and Bernie, do you remember who the other guys were?
