It sounds like you weighed the coach on a single axle scale.

IMHO relying on my experience weighing race cars and airplanes … all the axles, wheels should be weighed at the same time. If the pavement ahead of and/or behind the scale platform isn’t perfectly level with the scale platform (which I’d submit is really difficult to do), your results are “probably in the ballpark” but it’d be surprised if they were precise.

Now take the coach to a CAT scale (or equivalent) at a truck stop where you can weigh each axle at the same time. It would be interesting to see the difference.

Another thing you could do is approach the single-axle scale at the feed mill from the opposite direction and weigh the coach again. I’ll bet a dozen donuts you’ll get different numbers.

Looked at some videos on cat scales and I see there are a few scales, say a semi truck being weighed, what about a bus front tires on front scale and drives and tag on same scale or try to get drives and tags on different scales??

The proper way to weigh was pretty much beat to death on this string a few days ago:

The two views being to drive on cat scale the normal way or backwards from the exit end. Plus for normal way is driver is near the box you push the button on and talk to the scale desk. Plus for backwards is buses have tag and drive close together and steer off by itself far away, backwards of a semi with steer and tractor drives close together and trailer axles off by themselves far away. A bus matches the platforms more easily if you go on backwards, a semi the normal way. Also, if you are dragging a toad (with a tow bar, if you have a trailer it has tongue weight and must be unhooked to weigh bus and have weights come out right), and you go on backwards, you don’t have to unhook it to weigh. Just let it sit on the ground off the end of the scale.
