  • Pro Driver Error Codes

    Hello,

For the last few months I have been having the same issue. Every time I drive my 1998 XL (which is every week) I have the same issue.

I will drive 20 or 30 miles then:

    1) My Pro Driver will say: “Fuel Temp Circuit High” , then “Coolant Temp Circuit High” then Booster Circuit High”.
    2) My booster will then quit and I lose speed
    3) I slow down and they go away and my booster works as usual
    4) I can then drive for rest of the day without any issues.

Occasionally My Pro Driver will say coolant temp high and show 230 or higher degrees. Once I take my foot of the gas, it immediately goes down to normal, which is 195 to 200 degrees. If I don’t slow down the stop engine light comes on. After I slow down all is well the rest of the day.

My Detroit service shop has checked the ECM wires at the ECM unit and all seems well. Next week I have an appointment with with Prevost in Dallas to check out the issues.

Since this this an intermit issue, I would like to have some guidance from the group on what this issue may be, as I am afraid Prevost will say every thing is working as normal.

    Thoughts anyone?
    Thanks

This may not be the answer, but the first thing I would do is make sure all the grounds are clean and tight.

Almost any time the systems are as screwed up as you describe the cause is often grounds that are loose, corroded or both.

There are a whole lot of them to check, but it is usually worth it.
