A little history. Another site that started many moons ago was a site requiring membership dues. The original purpose was for a place where members could vent. There was no politics or discussion about hot button issues, but it was a place where members were entitled to say whatever they wanted because it was only accessible to members.
As time passed the site became a vehicle for advertising dollars which the site owner deemed the primary purpose of the site, and members started to have posts censored because they complained about an advertiser, or praised a converter that was not an advertiser. The creation of the private site on PC was to create a place where people could say what was on their mind, and it would only be accessible to the people that wanted to run the private site. They had control over who would be granted access, meaning people who typically advertise on Prevost related sites would likely not get access to the forum. They wanted to be certain there would nothing to inhibit conversations positive or negative about any advertiser on PC or the other site.
The final straw that caused the folks to ask Tom and I to create the site was on another forum a member posted a nasty comment about one of the converters. A second member joined the conversation and expressed a similar view. A third member posted an opposing view, and in a short period of time the conversation on the forum either got deleted or locked.
That pissed off the second and third members because even though they had opposite opinions about the converter they did not want to be censored which was their right as dues paying members. Bottom line they quit the other forum and we provided the private forum. It is dormant now and begging for someone who needs a forum to use it. We do not have any purpose for it because only when conversations on PC go off the charts will we lock or delete the thread. Those instances are so rare, for all practical purposes this PC forum meets the original intent of the other forum’s purpose.
The original post that started the thread that created the censorship problem was found to be bogus, but until that was learned all hell broke loose.
BTW, in case members are not aware we encourage open conversations. We want owners to post their experiences to guide other members. If an owner has a good experience with an RV resort or service provider we like to see posts about that. Conversely if a member is not satisfied with a RV resort or service provider or who they bought their coach from we expect to see posts about that, but only after they have attempted to get a remedy from the provider, and only if they are willing to share all the information. We will not allow a post that is negative unless there is a reason stated for the post. And you likely know this bunch well enough to know the thread will end up revealing a lot of information because our members are very good about requiring complete details.
We will specifically provide anyone who is spoken of negatively with a means to respond. We will grant them access to the forum after we alerted them of a post that is negative. Some have responded on the forum, some have reached out to the member who was not satisfied and some have never responded while being trashed.
Remember, the sole purpose of the PC forum is to allow any Prevost enthusiast to ask questions, share information, and if need be talk about their experiences and we want that to continue for the benefit of all.

Thanks Jon,
I for one have found this site and forum a huge help for myself as a new Prevost owner. I creeped the site for a year or so before I purchased. It is an invaluable resource.
I think we are supposed to take care of each other, listing our thoughts about how we where treated by a business that has anything to do with Prevost or the lifestyle or RVing in general. If someone treats us good or goes above and beyond for us ie; (East Tennessee Luxury Coach) we should sing their praises. If they are not so good or take advantage of us we should be able to state our opinion as long as it is factual. That way our members do not have to become victims or subjected to the same bad service as we went through.
I know you don’t hear it enough, but you and Tom do a wonderful job with this site. Keep up the good work boys.
Steve
(was that good enough to get that reduction in dues this year?)
-
Both Tom and I respond well to brown nosing, but we aren’t cheap dates. We like expensive gifts.
For anyone to get a reduction in dues we usually insist on something meaningful like a new car or a comparably priced Rolex.
-
I’m guessing a nice plump Chicken won’t get a due reduction??
-
Come on Steve, go with the flow.
You make waves for the powers that be and you will pay the price (Higher Dues)
Keep messing with them and they might even CENSOR you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Al caps, that is like screaming.
And for the Tennessee King (in Vonore) you mess with him and you’ll be buying your on donuts and pizza.
Just a few words of caution 🙂
P. S. Remember Jon is reffered to as the God Father, so if you don’t like horses heads in your bed, be careful.
-
Buddy,
I surely don’t want to cause any waves… Not even a ripple with the God Father and his General. In fact I have started emailing my dues in weekly through pay pal trying to stay on their good side.
As far as Sarge Rowe, goes I think I AM paying for those doughnuts some way or another.

The donuts and pizza are free, but the oil changes………..that’s another story.

I sent pete and re-pete a case of Spam variety pack to celebrate 2000 members and enjoy fine dining !!!!
-
And I sent a 3 year supply of Standup weenies to Jon and Tom. Hopefully that will cover my dues for the next year. Waiting on some good steaks for Jeff. I have heard He does some GREAT work. Will let you know when we pick up our bus in January. Seriously, ETLC (Jeff) is the only person I feel comfortable leaving our bus with while we are not there. From what I’ve seen, He is the best.
-
Don’t try sucking up JD, Jon must have got all the weenies..
I did get BA’s Spam though and an ample supply of Crestor as a compliment.

I’d be in HOG heaven with a case of Spam…it’s the perfect food…useful for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Geo.
