I had a 1990 Country Coach conversion, which may be similar. I think both had the large overhead above the windshield which you can attach the curtain to. Mine had aluminum tracks, roughly “L” shaped but rounded at the corner, extending from each B pillar to center of the dash, and overlapping somewhat at the middle to assure privacy. Sliding plastic hooks fit inside the track and the drapery hung from them by regular curtain hooks. A piece of wooden trim conceals the track in the pictures. Sorry I don’t have one with detail. The curtain was just a nice pleated drapery that should be easy to make or have made. Since the windshields are not too tall the curtain was pretty compact when folded easy to stow with tiebacks to the aft of the door and the driverside window. Suggest you use a fairly thin fabric with a light blocking lining to assure that it does not become too thick when folded. I believe this type of setup is commonly used on motorhomes and you may be able to find the bendable track at Camping World or someplace like that. Hope this helps and good luck.

Rod, If the coach has a slot that runs from one end of the underside of the front overhead cabinets your coach is alread set up for a privacy curtain. If not you have other options.

If it has the slot there are “hangers” that fit in the slot and will slide from side to side. Those hangers have a way to attach them to a pleated curtain. All that is required is to then measure the length and height and have the privacy curtain made. The curtain which is typically in two halves is folded and secured at the driver and passenger sides with a strap made from the same material and which has some type of snap to hold it around the curtain.

If you want to go in a different direction you could also consider pull down shades or if you want to go more sophisticated you can install electric shades.

Thanks for the replies. The issue with this coach is that the bottom of the cabinets above is not flat. Marathon put in wood partions that extend a bit below the bottom of the cabinets. These wood partitions come down in six different locations. In my previous bus, we had the channel where we ran a curtain. This bus came with snaps installed under the cabinet. We can see where someone left the connecting part of the snap. This tells me that they destroyed the privacy curtain at some point.

At this point it seems that we have two options. First option is to get pulldown shades. We already have driving shades that we would have to work around. Second option is to utilize the snaps that are already installed.

What I was hoping to get a picture of was what originally came with the Marathon conversion. and then to see what others with this vintage of bus did with their installations.

Yup, mine had the snaps. Sorry, no pictures. The curtain was one piece of cloth which extended from the rearmost portion of the driver side window to the rearmost portion of the entry door window. A snap was placed on the cabinet at the front of the entry door so that if you stopped snapping there, 3 of the 4 windows would be covered and you could use the entry door.

My current coach has electrically operated roller sun shades on the 3 windows. Had a 4th on entry door but the wind screwed it up and I don’t miss it. The electrics are easy and have the addl benefit of being easy to adjust from the driver’s seat as sunshades while driving.
