Prevost XL 96-97 water “leak” under the bus
Posted by andrew on February 7, 2020 at 12:08 pmI am hooked up to water, but whenever i turn the key and send water to the bus it starts shooting out of a hose underneath the bus. The sinks and shower work fine, but the water is constantly shooting out under the bus. Is there a shut off I am missing? The hose where the water is coming out is located in the same compartment where the pump and water filters are.
Also on a seperate note, I have a Royal Flush Headhunter toilet. There is no button to flush the toilet. I am obviously missing something, but I cannot figure how to flush the toilet.

Have you looked to see where the leak is? There aren’t too many people here able to do that for you. I am not aware of a single conversion that has an exposed water line beneath the coach. That means if water is leaking it is leaking inside and then running out. That is not good.
In addition to the question about who converted your coach there is more information you need to provide. For example, is it leaking out when you are using city water pressure for the entire house system? Does it leak out if you are only filling the water tank? Does it leak out if you are using water from the water tank via the onboard pump?
Every coach has shut off valves, not only for the fixtures, but to fill the tank or provide pressure from city water to the house water system. Have you followed the water lines from the water connection to see where they go, and how that water goes to the house or tank?

Every Headhunter toilet I have had has a small button switch mounted on the ceramic, to the right as you sit on the toilet. If there is no switch there then someone has relocated the switch and you will have to play hide and seek.

If I had to make a WAG, I’d say the fill valve for the fresh water tank is open and getting water out overfill? No idea on toilet, mine has/had a switch on the left side as you look at the toilet.

Joel, isn’t the left side as you look at it, the same as the right side when sitting on it?
Excellent observation about it being tank overflow. Why is it so easy to overlook the obvious?

so i need to close the valve on the fresh water tank? that was what i assumed. it is definitely not a leak by definition. the hose is letting out water like it is supposed to. i just need to shut it off.

Each converter does thing a little different, that’s why I asked for your conversion so someone with a like bus can help be specific.
Once again, what conversion?

Do not take this as an insult, but if you are a new owner, the seller or previous owner did not do you any favors by failing to help orient you to the coach.
You also have to share a little of the burden because before you turned the key for the first time you should have asked for a little training.
So let’s look at this from the perspective of people who want to help you. You have gotten some answers. What is expected is that you accept the help offered here by posting questions on the forum or at least connecting with some members who have your conversion so answers can be specifc.
Here I go again repeating the need to know your converter.
I can assure you a new owner has the potential to be up to his ass in alligators and I know this because every owner on here has been in that position. Don’t hesitate to tap into the knowledge of our 4500 enthusiast members.

Like Tom says … who is the converter? I have a Vantare and the number 44 circuit breaker controls the Tank monitors, the Thermostat and the Head Hunter Toilet flush button. At Lakeland a few years back, I ask Ben Cummings, who designed the electrical system on my coach, why the one breaker controlled the Toilet, Tank monitors and Thermostat. Ben looked at me with a straight face and said “They all start with the letter T”. You had to know Ben’s sense of humor.
On my Headhunter toilet, on the left side sitting (right side when standing for #1) about 4 inches off the floor, I have a small push button switch that bypasses the button switch on the upper portion and flushes the toilet.

Here is a reason for listing converter and coach details along with location.
There may be another knowledgeable member in close proximity to poster that could help the poster correct his problem.
I would think a requirement for a signature with valuable information would be a good requirement for posting on the forum. Just my 2 cents which dosen’t cover my dues payment.

George is 100% correct, and he actually understates the value of a detailed signature line.
Not only does information about the coach aid greatly in having access to help and accurate information, experienced owners can bring information to the conversation that wasn’t even requested. It is safe to say when all of us got our coaches we didn’t even know what we didn/t know.
