Greg suggested a link to the Prevost technical publications page so it was done.

    http://prevostparts.volvo.com/technicalpublications/en/manuel.asp

For those who have never visited this page, it is the entry point for all sorts of valuable technical information relating to your specific coach. You can find everything from the shop manual, to service bulletins to recalls to wiring and pneumatic diagrams to owner, driver and operator manuals.

It just takes a little practice to learn how to pull up your diagrams, but once you get on to the techniques you can trace any air line or chassis electric wire. It is a very valuable tool for trouble shooting.

At the very least you should book mark the link, or just remember you can access the site via the links on Prevost Community.

I have printed out important items, and on some of the diagrams I have enlarged them and printed and taped “tiles” together to make tracing lines easier.

    Jon,

Do you have a link for pre-2000 coaches?

    Gary,

As to what is defined as the specific Prevost service levels that might be located on their site. I would caution everyone however to pull up the maintenance schedule that pertains to your coach and using that as a starting point create your own coach specific task list based on miles, time and how you use the coach.

I suggest that because there are so many items I find myself doing when I service my coach that I am not sure they are listed anywhere. To give a couple of examples I never lube the coach (about 5000 to 6000 mile intervals) without completely draining all air tanks and verifying the operation of the protection valves. With no tension on the engine belts I spin the idler pulleys and other rotating parts such as the alternator to check for any indications of bearing problems. When I am looking at the wheels, hubs and brakes I am looking at friction material thickness, signs of hub seal leaks and cracks in drums or rotors. The point being these are not things I do if I think of them, but they are specific maintenance tasks that are as important to me as getting grease into a fitting.

    Gil,

Everything I needed for my 97 coach was on the link. I do not know what the earliest year you will find on the link, but I know from poking around there are some PDF files for some very old electrical and pneumatic diagrams.

    Gil:

On the search check the vehicle type and then check the manual type. It will list manual sections grouped by year. for the years prior to 2000.

Leaving the year blank worked great, awesome site!

I found the section under safety recalls and maintenace information, both under technical publications to be very informative. I see that my coach has had two recalls and that there are several changes Prevost has made over time. One in particular I want to followup on. For some reason they developed a kit to relocate the transmission breather. I guess I’ll add this to the list for Prevost to check.

What I didn’t see is the new door handle kit, which I know about from this site. I also didn’t see a kit I understand that exists to fix the fuel backwash that occurs when filling the tank at the high speed pumps.

    Thanks!

    Gil:

Call Prevost Service and have them check your VIN for the recall services. They collect that data and can tell you if you are uo to date.
