We learned today it’s dry camping. I won’t be setting in a parking lot with 40 buses on generators and 3′ between parking spots.
-
I’m wit ya Truk…too old for that crap, plus you can see the race better on tv. Geo.

Nothing is mentioned about generator exhaust extensions to push smoke up over coach roofs. Been to a couple rallies dry camping with all the smoke. For this kind of money you’d think large generators could be used to mitigate smoke.
-
I for one would be reluctant to make a special exhaust stack to route the exhaust up to roof level or above. I have zero objection to running a generator 24/7, but not in the proximity of other coaches or people. And I don’t know how others feel, but when I am parked I prefer to use all the features my coach has rather than sacrificing any of the creature comforts so I would need a generator.

I have read the different packages and I am having a hard time to understand why it is costing $300 plus a day to park in a parking lot with no services. Does any body have an answer, or am I missing something.

Jon, we too have no objection to running our genset as well for 24/7/365 in any situation I, too, have much difficulty shelling out 300 Bux a day for a patch of earth I responded back to last “Prevost ” mass email about the rally and its expense and what the menu would be. Someone emailed me back, don’t know who, stating they would work with me for a non dairy menu, but only said sorry we weren’t coming when addressing my cost concerns.
-
I cannot address the cost. I have no idea how the numbers were reached. I actually wanted to go pretty bad despite the fact that in addition to the rally cost I would be looking at serious money just for fuel.
The show stopper was I am not going to want to be in a parking lot. In addition to the NASCAR events, for me a big part of a rally such as this is to hang around the coaches sitting in lawn chairs, sharing beers, and talking abut whatever we Prevost owners talk about when we are together. Liberty did a great rally at the Memorial Day Charlotte races this year and we had full hookups and were far enough apart so we could extend awnings, hang around the coaches and socialize. The cost was less than the cost of this rally and we had a first class experience.
I cannot imagine doing Las Vegas with 70 buses running generators. We would be gagging.
